Company history

1910

Founding of the company by Otto Kerger/Manufacturing and assembly of awnings, roller shutters, folding and rolling grilles.

1939

Shifting of production to nuts and bolts during the Second World War. After the bombing of Wuppertal, production was relocated to Schonach, Black Forest.

1945
The son, Ernst, becomes owner after the war and the original products are manufactured again in Wuppertal Elberfeld.

1969
Klaus Kerger takes over management after the death of his father, Ernst. In the following years the company increases its turnover and output quite significantly.

1978
Relocation to the newly constructed building on Otto-Hahn-Straße in Wuppertal-Ronsdorf

1986
Founding of Keroll Kerger GmbH, under whose name business has been carried out until the present.

1980
Since the mid-1980s, the company has concentrated on the production of folding grilles, roller shutters and folding grills and has operated exclusively as a presupplier for companies specialised in the gate, shutter, sun protection and metal construction sectors.

1991
Since 1991 the company has exhibited at the world’s leading trade fair for roller shutters, gates and sun protection, the R+T in Stuttgart.

2002
Purchase of the neighboring hall and expansion of production.

2010
Keroll Kerger GmbH celebrates its 100th anniversary. Meanwhile, the family company of Klaus Kerger reaches the fourth generation with daughter Anne and son Thomas.

2011
Installation of 2 photovoltaic systems on the hall roofs.
2016
This year the company has significantly optimized its market presence: a fresher, more modern appearance and the new website are the result. Keroll Kerger GmbH presents itself as an owner-managed family business that is firmly rooted in the region, but is internationally successful with its individual product solutions.

Completion of the intermediate building and connection of the 2 previous halls. Expansion of office space, production and storage areas.

2018
At the world’s leading trade fair R+T, Keroll is exhibiting transparent goals made of polycarbonate for the first time.

2022
Thomas Kerger and Anne Sonnenschein have taken over the management since October 2022.
